Red Barn Raising

Red Barn Raising Square

I finished my square for
Sheep in the City's
blanket project! I really enjoyed making this square but I don't know if I could make more! This blanket is really one to make with your friends!

Day 223 (223/366): I Can Haz Yarn

I also acquired some more sock yarn for myself this week. ScoutJ was nice enough to let me buy this yarn from her. It was a very special dye she tells me which makes it even more special to me.

I am itching to cast on for some socks! ITCHING!

Square for Sheep

I'm working on a square for the Red Barn Raising and loving this pattern.

I really love how knitters come together to make something of comfort for those who need comfort. I'm also glad that I can help contribute to comforting them.

I'm busy, busy right now trying to finish up my Mom's birthday present! It's something she specifically requested but I told her would never happen. I hope she's surprised!

VOTE FOR KATO 2008!

Ahhhhhh Kato

I love taking pictures of pets and so the furry little creature I live with is often photographed. A few months ago, he curled up in a box and looked so sweet that I had to take some pictures of him.

Then I heard that NW Source was holding a Pet Photo Contest and so I entered Kato's photo.

This week I found out that Kato is a finalist!

Day 203 (203/366): Reaching, Stretching

Today I went back to work after my mini-staycation (I learned that is what a vacation is called when you stay home!). I briskly walked to my bus stop and enjoyed the wonderful sunshine morning. I approached my bus stop with glee. They had mowed and cleared the tall grass! Sir Chomps-a-lot was sure to be gone!

Cleared Bus Stop

I was about 5 minutes early so I lingered a bit by the shelter when I saw HIM! He was still there and taunting me. Well those were the longest 5 minutes of my life. I begged for the bus to come faster! HURRY UP! I was jittery while waiting and couldn't even knit like I had planned.

Sir Chomps A Lot

Then when I got to work I called King County and filed a rat complaint. Sir Chomps-A-Lot, your days are numbered! I have an official complaint number and everything but for some reason I suspect that he'll disappear when they head out there but will re-appear when I go to wait for the bus! Bleh!

On the good side, I hope to have a finished project to show you tomorrow which means I should get off the computer and get back to knitting!

Yoga Today

I've been a bit disgruntled with my Yoga teacher at work. We received a new instructor at work back in May and I've been trying to meld to her style of Yoga. Last week I decided that I wasn't melding. I just don't like her style even though she really knows her stuff and is a great teacher. It's unfortunate but her style does not fit me and since I'm doing Yoga for ME, I need something that fits my style.

Lolly mentioned that she likes to do the classes on Yoga Today and so I've been meaning to check them out for some time. Today on my last day of my mini-vacation, I decided to give them a try and I have to say that they are wonderful! Yes you don't have the advantage of having a teacher in the same room as you to correct your mistakes BUT I loved the flow, I loved the motion and most importantly I loved that they are free!

So for the foreseeable future, I think I'll be doing Yoga with Yoga Today a few times a week. They do different topics each day and as one catches my fancy, I'll make sure to try it out.

Now I really need to go shower and get some serious knitting done! I don't want to waste a single moment of this last day of mini-vacationing!

Yarn Stash Inventory

Malabrigo Worsted Hollyhock

One of my goals this Fourth of July weekend was to inventory my yarn and I'm happy to say that I have! But now I sit here in shock at how much yarn I have! One of my 101 in 1001 goals is to reduce my yarn stash by 25% which means that I need to use up 12,000 yards of yarn by September 2009.

For those of you on Ravelry, you can see my stash in all it's horror, here
here

I must say this was quite the undertaking! I snapped photos of alot of yarn, processed the photos and then uploaded the data into Ravelry. I did this from about 4 p.m. until about 11 p.m. I'm wiped but now I'm done!

Rats at the Bus Stop

My Rat Bus Stop
Grainy due to taking with my cell phone

In the past few weeks, I've noticed some rodenty activity at my bus stop but always out of the corner of my eye as they've disappeared in to the brush. Today the Rat sat on the sidewalk and stared at me. Seriously this is beyond what I can handle. I think I'll have to take a different route to work. I did call Metro and ask them to clean up the stop which I hope they do but seriously I'm all grossed out and everything. Ughhh!
