10 on 10 (November)

A few days ago, a long anticipated app, Filmborn was launched. I was so excited about it that I wrote an article on it for Seattle Refined and decided to do my 10 on 10 in November using only the Filmborn app. It helped make a depressing day, much more fun.

10 on 10 (October)

I went to Click Away 2016 over the weekend and really awakened my creative juices. I had so many ideas for this month's 10 on 10 but I'll admit that I was also sidetracked halfway through the day with tasks that were just not photogenic (preschool board of director's meeting, anyone?) I had fun with this though and am looking forward to doing it again next month. Until then, here are my 10 (photos) on (the) 10th (of October).

10 on 10 (August)

This month's 10 on 10 happened on a Wednesday and Scott was traveling. He's been gone part of the week for the past three weeks so there may have been some grumps in the house.

The girls woke up and I had to convince them to eat breakfast. They just wanted to watch tv but I insist on the morning routine before tv or else we will never leave the house. 

They whipped through the morning routine and were rewarded with TV time. They were entranced. 

We headed to the preschool where Maggie wanted to play for a bit before heading out to barre3 class. Maggie went to childcare.



It was hard to convince Maggie to leave. She starts at the preschool in three weeks and is so excited.



I had to pick up Scott's prescription for him since he kept forgetting. I'm not a fan of his pharmacy. They take forever!



We had swim lessons again. We actually go everyday and the kids are doing great!



Molly can almost swim across the pool all by herself. Her strokes are giant and clumsy but so great!



The kids insist on climbing the tree outside the pool, every single day.



While the kids rested, I wrote a book review and answered some emails. The book is super cool!



After dinner, Molly spent a long time playing in the play kitchen. That was such a great purchase almost three years ago!



After dinner, Maggie put herself to bed early (I know! What child does this?) and Molly and I read books for almost two hours. I introduced her to Hillary Clinton and we read that book a few times.

10 on 10 (June)

This month's 10 on 10 fell on a Friday. Friday is the girls and I's one free day of the week so I try to plan adventures. I thought we had a birthday party to attend but got the date totally wrong (we showed up a week early to the party) so I had to think quickly on my feet. I decided to take the girl's Strawberry picking. We headed up to Monroe and had a grand time before returning to Seattle for Maggie's doctor appointment.

I started my day with Sync Boot Camp before enjoying breakfast with Maggie who is obsessed with this leapfrog phone she found on the playground.

The girls watched tv while I got ready for the day. For some reason, they decided to use their play tunnel as a blanket which cracked me up. 

After loading up the girls for our ill-fated trip to Lynnwood for the birthday party, I quickly turned the morning around into something fun - berry picking!

We headed up to Monroe since I had seen a post on Facebook that morning saying that they had berries. I didn't have much time to plan so I went with my first thought which worked out great! The berries were thin but that didn't matter since we were just there for the experience. 

After berry picking, we headed back to Seattle for Maggie's doctor appointment. She's been having some unexplained hives so we were headed to the allergist for some answers. We got back early so I stopped at UVillage so the girls could get their wiggles out at the play area. The girls also convinced me to get them some candy. 

Once at the allergists, Maggie had an allergy test which required me holding her still for 20 minutes. It wasn't fun but we made it through with a little help from a Dora video. Unfortunately we didn't find anything for Maggie to be allergic to so the hives continue to be a mystery. 

I finished the day out in the backyard. My garden is going gang-busters and I'm ready to start a second planting of lettuce.

10 on 10

This month's 10 on 10 happened to fall on Scott and I's anniversary. We were on Vashon Island for a story I was working on and had a great time with the girls. We celebrated on Friday night before leaving for the weekend so we had some time for celebration without the kids. The 10th though was pure family time.

The girls started their day with some serious TV watching while Scott and I took our time waking up and reading.

The place we were staying had a great public area with games. Molly and Maggie spent some time playing before we headed off for breakfast. 

We had breakfast at the bakery near our hotel and Molly got really into doing the ABC's on their magnetic scrabble board. It was fun watching her explore her letters. 

We had a long wait for the ferry home but eventually made it before the kids went completely feral. 

The ferry ride home was quick but the kids still managed to make some noise and run out their wiggles. 

We stopped at a burger joint close to the ferry dock for a late lunch. The burgers were great and the girls loved their milk shakes. 

 The chickens were thrilled to have us home since I had locked them up when we left for the weekend. The rest of our day was spent settling back in and getting ready for the week ahead.
