The Slog is Done! Long Live the Slog!

Day 13 (13/365.2): The Slog is Complete!

Two nights ago, I cast off on the SLOG (the Chevron Scarf) and I can honestly say that I won't be making another one EVER! In fact, I'm not even sure I want to wear this on. I am however pleased as punch that I'm finished with the project. It didn't take as much yarn as I thought so I know have two extra skeins of sock yarn. I'm sure I'll be able to find a project for them.

Chevron Scarf

The Most Boring Scarf EVER

I'm in the midst of a finishing frenzy as previously mentioned so last night I moved on to the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I started this scarf almost two years ago and I know why I stalled on knitting it. It's BORING! Oh I love the colors, I love how the scarf is coming out but I DO NOT LIKE knitting it.

Chevron Colors

It's incredibly boring and slow going. I knit on this for about 3 hours today and maybe got four more inches knit. Bah! I'm going to knit a bit more on this tonight and then tomorrow on Christmas, I'm going to knit something FUN!

Last Minute Knitted Scarf

One of my 101 in 1001 goals is to knit myself five scarves. Now that I have all my supplies for the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, I'll be starting my first of five this weekend.

Envy

My Lorna's Laces Shepard Sock in their newest color, Envy finally came in today! I'm so excited! I have two extra skeins to knit up some socks for myself.

I'll be combining the Envy with some of the Lakeview colorway. It will be beautiful!

AND THE WINNER IS...

I'm making the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and yesterday I asked for everyone's advice on what colors to use.

Originally I was going to use Child's Play as one of the colors but darn Amanda and Meg suggested that I use Envy and Lakeview instead and save my two skeins of Child's Play for something different.

I was easily swayed by these two ladies and now four skeins of Envy and two skeins of Lakeview are on their way to my yarn stash from Two Swan's Yarn.

Ermmmm, yes I only need two skeins of each of these colors to make my scarf but I AM IN LOVE with the Envy colorway and had to have two more of that yarn to make socks or something else. I NEED MY ENVY!

Thank you to everyone who voted! I love knitting by committee.

Chevron Scarf Making

I'm making the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and I need everyone's advice.

I selected my first color by diving into my stash and picking up two skeins of Lorna's Laces in Child's Play that I purchased long ago while on a trip to Washington D.C.

Which leads me to the tricky selection of the second color and where I need your advice! Leave me a comment telling me which two colors you think I should use in my Chevron Scarf. Remember one of them has to be Child's Play.
